Fall Has Fallen

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and I'm so glad it's here! The hustle and bustle of summer is fun and all, but I love how every year fall comes and smacks us upside the head and says, "Yo... time to slow down a little, bust out your sweaters and get out here to enjoy the scenery!"

I wasn't planning to decorate the house for fall because I'm not a big fan of Halloween decor (fake rats and bones gross me out) or anything too traditional. Then last week I went to Michael's for a picture frame and got inspired - they had some super cute, not too over-the-top decor and it was all 50% off! So I picked up a few new items and combined them with things we already had to give the living room and kitchen a little fall flavor.

Living room... new pumpkin lanterns, a little fall ribbon (to spruce up one of our wedding lanterns and a boring candle - more on that later) and some faux leaves for color.

The lanterns were a mere $5 each and the candles are ginger spice scented... mmm!

Kitchen... faux fruit in mini hurricanes with green wine bottles on the island, plus some ribbon added to our galvanized tubs on the shelves

It was a pleasant surprise that the green color of the kitchen walls looks great with the new fall colors (since it's a pretty springy paint color).

These little touches around the house make me even more excited to cozy up under a blanket and watch a little football!
