Quickie Candle Upgrade

As part of my little fall decorating spree, I included one of the white lanterns from our wedding on top of the buffet.

Then I realized I didn't have any fall colored candles to go inside... all I had was a bunch of silver candles left over from the wedding. Luckily I did have some pretty fall ribbon from Michael's so I channeled my inner Tim Gunn and "made it work."

Here's how to snazz up a boring ol' candle with ribbon.

Step 1: Attach the end of the ribbon to the candle with two straight pins.

Step 2: Wrap the ribbon tightly around the rest of the candle. (Please pardon the cast claw...)

Step 3: Finish by wrapping the final row twice, then cutting the ribbon and attaching with two more pins.

**Note: I'm not planning to burn this candle so I wrapped the ribbon all the way to the top. If I did want to burn it, I would have started 3/4 of the way down.

Easy as that, I have a lovely new fall candle and I think it looks great!
